My Story

My journey into psychedelics began in the vibrant festival scene, where I encountered the profound power of community supporting psychedelic experiences. The care of warm, nonjudgmental individuals allowed me to soften into vulnerability, which was essential for my healing, especially after profound loss. Psychedelics provided a way to reconnect with myself, find meaning in grief, and deepen my understanding of life, love, and death. These transformative moments sparked a passion to further explore psychedelics for healing.

As I explored the intersection of Western clinical practice, both as a psychotherapist and researcher, and the spiritual natural world, I began to recognize the synergy between the realms of science and the sacred. My clinical training offered a structured framework for understanding the human experience, while my deep relationship with nature provided a richer, more transcendent layer of insight. This connection has guided me to help others align with nature’s cycles and rhythms, recognizing that our well-being is intricately linked to the Earth. Psychedelics, in particular, have expanded my understanding of our interconnectedness, much like the mycelial networks that connect trees and plants. I believe that we are all part of a larger ecosystem, where our health, inner peace, and growth are woven into the rhythms of the Earth. In this space, I find a profound sense of purpose in supporting others on their journey toward wholeness, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world and our place within it.

I began my journey with Fireside Project in 2022, supporting callers through various psychedelic experiences. This role taught me the art of holding compassionate space—listening without judgment and supporting others through vulnerability and growth. These experiences have become a foundation of my approach to both psychedelics and life.

When I'm not coaching at Fireside, I serve as a Clinical Instructor and Psychotherapist in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina. Outside of my professional work, I find peace and inspiration in nature—whether I’m hiking in the woods, practicing yoga, or spending quality time with my dog, Finn.
